Wishing I was outside on a rainy work day (Travis)

This makes me want to climb another 14er – it’s from the summit of Mont Blanc (15,782 ft) in western Europe. But instead, I get to listen to the rain pour down as I write turbulence models and an academic paper. Yippee. But I’ve got some good reggae beats to keep me going 🙂

If you don’t know, I have this ridiculous goal of climbing all 15 of California’s 14,000+ foot peaks. 3 down, 12 to go. There clearly won’t be enough time to get another notch in my belt before we go to Oz, but those mountains aren’t going anywhere.

Just so I don’t get in trouble, the photo is from National Geographic’s “Your Shot” website (http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/your-shot/daily-dozen), by Fredrik Schenholm.

  1. this pic is insane! i would never do that, even with crampons and ice axes. it gives me a rush of adrenaline just looking at it.

just remember – we get TWO summers this year – that should make the rain more bearable 🙂 -Q
